WGS- 5th Grade Astronomy

Fifth Graders welcomed Greg Hollmann, from Rend Lake College, to talk to them about the solar system and the planet Mars. Students learned about different rover missions and watched videos of how astronomers go about making rovers that can land safely. Then the fifth graders participated in a fun activity where each of them got a budget of $1,000,000 to buy supplies to design a way to protect their rover (water balloon) from breaking when dropped from a 10 ft ladder. Mrs. Orrill and the fifth grade students thank Rend Lake College for this experience!
