WGS Softball - 3rd at State
WGS softball team finished the softball season with a 3rd place finish at the SIJHSAA Softball Class S State tournament in Coulterville on October 10th. WGS rallied from behind in the opening game against Jasper-Geff early in the game. Down 10-2, WGS fought back to gain a 12-11 lead before the final inning, and winning with a walkoff in the bottom of the 7th to win 13-12! In the Semi-final game, WGS lost in extras to Century 5-4 in 9 innings. The team bounced back in a close game and beat Patoka with a walk off bunt in the 7th inning winning 3rd place! WGS had a great year and finished the season 20-9.
