Mrs. Little's 2nd Grade Class - Military Service Project
The 2nd graders in Mrs. Little's class recently had a service project. First Sargent Ryan Crews of the Mt Vernon Police Department and of the Illinois Army National Guard asked the class to adopt a female soldier currently serving in Afghanistan. She is one of two female soldiers in her unit. The class collected many items, made cards, and made a flag with their handprints. Mrs. Little's class will be sending those items to her to make her feel good. Sgt. Crews visited the class to talk about life while serving overseas and life as a police officer.
