Woodlawn USD #209 was formed as a new K-12 school district on July 1, 2015 with the consolidations of Woodlawn Community Consolidated District #4 and Woodlawn Community High School District #205. The District is predominantly rural, with the District serving part or of all of Casner, Shiloh, Grand Prairie, McClellan and Blissville Townships.

Woodlawn Grade School and Woodlawn High School are located in Woodlawn, IL, about 6 miles from Mt. Vernon, IL.
