WGS Softball 2nd Place
Congratulations Woodlawn Lady Warriors!
On Thursday, October 5th, the Woodlawn Grade School Lady Warriors placed 2nd at the SIJHSAA Class "S" State Softball Tournament. The ladies battled Crab Orchard in the championship game which resulted in a 12-3 loss.
“These kids have been phenomenal every game every year they don't give up,” Knox said. “They keep fighting. I'm proud of them. Even up to the last three outs they were still in the game. But it didn't work out for us.” (Mt. Vernon Register News)
The girls ended their season 26-2.
“At the beginning of the year, I was worried,” Knox said. “I didn't think we would get out of regionals. And the kids listened, learned and are here. I'm happy with the year. I couldn't be happier.
