Scholarships to Fund Future Education

Scholarship Criteria and Other Information Deadline

Kaskaskia College Foundation Scholarships

Amounts and requirements/criteria vary from scholarship to scholarship. Information for each individual scholarship can be found on the provided link to the left or by visiting Kaskaskia College's Financial Aid/Information page on their website. February 1, 2023 (Priority)

Masonic Lodge Trade School Scholarship

Criteria:  High school senior planning to attend a vocational/trade program

Monetary Value:  $1,000

Peoples National Bank Scholarship

Eligibility:  Senior interested in pursuing a career in a health-related field.

Monetary Award:  8 - $1,000 to $1,500 individual scholarships

CBAI Community Banking Scholarship

Eligibility: Senior whose family banks at a CBAI member bank

Monetary Value: $1,000

Community First Bank of the Heartland Scholarship

Eligibility:  Applicants must be graduating from a Jefferson County High School in 2023 with a GPA of at least a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.  

Monetary Award:  $500

Norwedden Gene Cowan Scholarship

Criteria:  Senior with great financial need with a 3.3 GPA or lower

Shelter Insurance Scholarship (Mike Coleman)

Eligibility: Any senior planning to attend college or technical school.  Students can scan and email their application to mcoleman@shelterinsurance.com OR mail to Mike Coleman's office or drop in dropbox on front of the building: 800 Broadway St Mt Vernon

Monetary Amount:  $1,500

SSM Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship

Eligibility:  Senior interested in pursuing a career in a health-related field.

Monetary Award:  8 - $1,000 to $1,500 individual scholarships

SSM - Dr. Jean Modert Scholarship

Eligibility:  Student pursuing a major in a health care program with at least a 3.0 GPA. 

Monetary Award:  $1,000

Crosswalk Community Action Scholarship

Eligibility:  Seniors of Franklin, Williamson, Jefferson, and Jackson counties; income based

Monetary Award: $1,500 - $4,500

Herb and Garden Club Scholarship

Eligibility:  High school senior pursuing a degree in Horticulture or Plant-Based Agriculture.

Monetary Award:  $500

American Legion Post 141 Scholarship

Eligibility: Senior from Jefferson County related to a member of the American Legion (limited to parent, grandparent or step-grandparent) either living or deceased. 

Monetary Award:  $500

Tri-County Electric - the LaVern and Nola McEntire Lineworker’s Scholarship

1 Scholarship available for a child of co-op members, relatives of co-op employees or directors, or individuals who have served or are serving in the armed forces or National Guard are all eligible for this scholarship, intending to help pay for costs to attend lineworker school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL; scholarship worth $2,000 April 30, 2023

Peg Edwards Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:  Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Monetary Award:  $1,000
